1.The pool and barrier must be constructed in a way that prevents children from accessing the water area.

3.The gate release mechanism must be less than 54 inches from the bottom of the gate on the side facing the pool and there should be no opening greater than 1/2-inch within 18 inches of the latch release mechanism.

4.Alarms must be installed at each door, window or screen that has direct access to the pool.

5.Pool chemicals must be packaged and labeled in a way that makes them easily distinguishable from each other.

6.Pool water supplies must be protected against backflow.

7.Water piping must be tested and sealed in accordance with standard ASTM F 1281.

8.Pool chemical storage containers must be labelled to help prevent chemical-mixing errors.

9.Bathrooms must be properly locked to prevent children from accessing them.

Keeping your pool and the surrounding area safe requires a lot of effort, but it is worth the effort. Not only will it prevent injuries and save lives, but it will help you avoid costly lawsuits.
